Hekas Cuckoo Clock 3748
Hekas Cuckoo Clock 3748: AÂ cuckoo clock is a type of clock, typically pendulum driven, that strikes the hours with a sound like a common cuckoo call and has an automated cuckoo bird that moves with each note. Some move their wings and open and close their beaks while leaning forwards, whereas others have only the bird's body leaning forward. The mechanism to produce the cuckoo call has been in use since the middle of the 18th century and has remained almost without variation.Â
Pendulum clocks must be stationary to operate. Any motion or accelerations will affect the motion of the pendulum, causing inaccuracies.
HEKAS cuckoo clocks have been produced in the Black Forest since 1938
The HEKAS company was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer. In 1981, Rolf Kammerer took over the management of the company, reinforced since 1998 by the 3rd generation with Uwe Kammerer. Few other manufacturers can offer you the entire range of the Black Forest clock program like us: from souvenir items to high-end cuckoo clocks. We have our own carpentry for the production of the cases and the manufacture of the raw parts intended to be carved, we can thus guarantee that all our cuckoo clocks are original parts produced in the Black Forest.
Woodcarving has always been done by skillful and experienced master craftsmen. The guarantee that all HEKAS cuckoo clocks are handmade. Obviously, we pay constant attention to the irreproachable quality of our products. We guarantee that each pendulum is hung for 12 to 24 hours in order to be checked and regulated before sending. As a result, and with a wide range of more than 500 different models, we have forged an excellent reputation in the field of watchmaking. We export our products regularly to more than 40 countries around the world.

Care and Maintenance of your Cuckoo ClockÂ
To keep your cuckoo clock looking bright and attractive requires only a simple cleaning practice. Use a soft, dry paintbrush or static cloth for dusting. Please do not use water or chemicals anywhere on the clock, as it can damage the wood and varnish.
For mechanical Cuckoo Clock movements
Do not use oil or spray ANY of the internal mechanism. This can severely damage the working parts. You can use compressed air to remove dust internally. Do not get too close to the parts.
A mechanical Cuckoo Clock will need regular servicing by a professional Cuckoo Clock repairer. A regular service done every 7-10 years will ensure your clock continues to run smoothly.
Quartz Cuckoo Clock movements
Only use good quality batteries, as they will last longer and are the less likely to leak. If a battery does leak and cause some corrosion, you can carefully remove the residual acid by using a fine sandpaper.
Battery operated cuckoo clocks do not require regular servicing.
Environmental factors
Environmental factors can affect the way your clock runs and its longevity. Warm or moist air can warp and distort wooden parts, while dust and heat may dry out oils and create wear on moving parts. It is highly recommended to keep your clock out of areas with high humidity and extreme heat. Therefore, careful consideration must be taken if you wish to hang your clock in kitchens, wet areas and over fireplaces.
